"World Wetlands Day 2025: Protecting wetlands for our common future" Bursa Event

In our province, the 2025 World Wetlands Day will be celebrated with the theme of “Protecting Wetlands for Our Common Future” in Eskikarağaç Neighborhood, which is the only representative of the stork village network in Europe, located within the Uluabat Lake Wetland and registered as a European Stork Village by the EuroNatur Foundation in 2011, at the Visitor Center and Bird Observatory under the auspices of Bursa Nature Conservation and National Parks Directorate. General information will be provided on the importance of Uluabat Lake Wetland, which was declared a Ramsar Area on April 15, 1998 and taken under protection, the protection of wetland ecosystems and the endangered species, especially water birds, spreading in the area, a presentation will be made on the theme of 2025, and guests will be provided with information about the 56 species on display by visiting the Taxidermy Exhibition Hall on the campus. Afterwards, the mallard ducks that were seized during the inspections carried out within the scope of combating poaching and whose rehabilitation processes have been completed at the Celal Acar Wild Animal Rescue and Rehabilitation Center located in the Karacabey Karadağı-Ovakorusu Wildlife Development Area will be released into Lake Uluabat. The event will end after the feeding session and lunch.
