Awareness on ‘Wetland and Biodiversity’ and Cleanup activity at Rudrasagar

The Rudrasagar lake was declared as Ramsar site on November 8, 2005 as it supports globally threatened ecological communities, populations of animal/plant species important for maintaining biological diversity and is a source of food for fishes. The site has been selected for the celebration of ‘World Wetland Day 2020’owing to its rich diversity and as the theme of this year celebration is ‘Wetlands and Biodiversity’. The main activities of this celebration will be cleaning up of waterbody and its surroundings, setting up of dustbins and instruction board, etc.
