This is a practical activity in class, linked to Topic 1 (The Importance of Water in the World) of the subject Hydrogeography and Soil Science, of the degree in Geography, Territorial Development and Sustainability of the Universidad de Castilla-La Mancha. The practical activity consists of viewing the proposed documentary (Coixet, I. 2010: Aral, The Lost Sea), and another documentary from the 80s (https://youtu.be/P5hyZf208vA?si=9eYSzBceE0ICbc7R). In the activity, students must focus on the problem of water from the point of view of the management of this resource. In addition, they must compare this situation with another situation close to their territory (Spain, Castilla-La Mancha, Ciudad Real), for which they must look for a similar documentary, press or recent scientific articles that deal with this problem. In this way, students will become aware of the importance of sustainable management of this resource, and which can have consequences not only for the local population, but also at a planetary level.
