The Society for the Conservation of Philippine Wetlands, Inc. (SCPW) successfully spearheaded the World Wetlands Day celebration in an event dubbed as “Picnic at LPPCHEA” with this year’s theme, “Wetlands for Sustainable Urban Future”. Aimed at allowing the members and networks of SCPW to experience the Las Piñas-Parañaque Critical Habitat and Ecotourism Area or LPPCHEA which is located within the Metropolitan Manila, a wetland walk, bird watching, a picnic, and a short program were conducted last 03 February 2018. Aside from the said activities, a talk about the plans on establishing a Wetland Center as a tool for educating people on wetlands, particularly about LPPCHEA and its importance, was likewise presented.
