Celebration of World Wetland Day at Ebrah village (Grand-Bassam Ramsar site, Ivory Coast).

The African Youth Network on Wetlands (RAJEZOH) is an association of young students which works to raise awareness, promote and strengthen the capacities of young people for the protection of wetlands of international importance according to the objectives of the Convention of Ramsar on wetlands. As part of the celebration of World Wetlands Day (WWD), RAJEZOH will organize a discovery and exchange activity with local populations on the Grand-Bassam wetland in Ebrah (Ivory Coast), on Saturday February 3, 2024 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The celebration of this day dedicated to wetlands aims to: - strengthen the capacities of young people on knowledge of wetlands; - identify the pressures and threats on the Grand-Bassam Ramsar site at Ebrah, Ivory Coast; - raise participants’ awareness of the urgency of their involvement in the protection of wetlands. This activity will be an opportunity to interact with young people from the village of Ebrah, to learn more about community management of the wetland and to discuss the different uses of the wetland.
