Ocean and River Lovers by Selva Ozelli for Havre de Grace Maritime Museum

About The "Ocean & River Lovers" art show is a series of environmental art exhibitions by artist Selva Ozelli held globally in 2025 -2026 at Havre de Grace Maritime Museum, CUHK Jockey Club Museum of Climate Change, Hong Kong and climate conferences, including Africa Climate Week, Climate Week NYC, London Climate Action Week and COP30. The show features 70 new oil paintings aimed at raising awareness about marine and river life. Key Exhibitions and Locations The art show has been featured at several institutions and events: • CUHK Jockey Club Museum of Climate Change, Hong Kong (May 23, 2025 - May 31, 2026) • Havre de Grace Maritime Museum, Havre de Grace, MD (May 2025 – May 2026) World Wetlands Day 2026 will be observed on Monday, February 2, 2026 with the official theme "Wetlands and traditional knowledge: Celebrating cultural heritage". This theme highlights the deep-rooted connection between wetlands and the cultural practices, traditions, and indigenous knowledge systems of communities worldwide. It aims to spotlight the role of traditional knowledge in sustaining wetland ecosystems and preserving cultural identity. Havre de Grace is actively restoring its wetlands and shorelines where the Susquehanna River meets the Chesapeake Bay through innovative "living shoreline" projects, creating habitats, filtering stormwater, and improving water quality using native plants, dunes, and filtration systems, transforming former bulkheads into vital ecological zones for birds, fish, and turtles.
