World Wetlands Day at Coochiemudlo Island
samedi 5 février 2022
Join us at Coochiemudlo Island to celebrate World Wetlands Day! We will be using this special day to launch out newest initiative, Revive our Wetlands. In partnership with Chevron Australia, Conservation Volunteers Australia will be engaging individuals and communities to care deeply for blue carbon ecosystems and encouraging active stewardship to ensure they function as best they can into the future. This event is for us all to learn more about our intention to collaborate and include volunteers in the area to take part in actions that help care for this ecosystem. The event will run from 1-4PM, and will give everyone a chance to meet new faces, hear new ideas and hopefully learn something new about the Melaleuca Wetlands on Coochiemudlo Island. The Melaleuca Wetlands form part of the Moreton Bay Ramsar site recognised as internationally significant under The Convention on Wetlands of International Importance. Get to know our project partners before heading out to do some wetland and shoreline weeding /revegetation, led by Bushtekniq. We will be co-hosting the event with Coochiemudlo Island Coast Care.
